bigclivedotcom explained why house hold dimmers don't work with LED bulbs on YouTube. Very interesting video, and reasons for why they don't really work.
I kitted my house out with LED bulbs when I bought it, and I think its the best thing I ever did. However, I would like to say that you should avoid buying Meridian LED bulbs from Toolstation. I did, I bought 5 of them. Over the course of 3 months with light/moderate use they all stopped working.
Friend of my girlfriend had a Volvo XC90 drive head on in to her. She was in a Daewoo Matiz (so quite the size difference). They were doing 20mph, the other driver about the same. The Volvo driver was more interested in a house for sale than in the direction of her vehicle.
The front of the Daewoo was flat. The front of the car push down like a giant stepped on it. There was nothing wrong with the Volvo. I think it had a scuff on the bumper, but while the Daewoo had to be towed back to the friends house, the Volvo was driven off like nothing happened.

You need to re-read Article 50 from something that isn't the Daily Fail or The S*n.
If, at the end of negotiations, there is no deal a vote can be cast whereby the EU member states can agree to extend the time for negotiations. You can read the actual wording here, but to save you the trouble of clicking:
"1. Any Member State may decide to withdraw from the Union in accordance with its own constitutional requirements.
2. A Member State which decides to withdraw shall notify the European Council of its intention. In the light of the guidelines provided by the European Council, the Union shall negotiate and conclude an agreement with that State, setting out the arrangements for its withdrawal, taking account of the framework for its future relationship with the Union. That agreement shall be negotiated in accordance with Article 218(3) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. It shall be concluded on behalf of the Union by the Council, acting by a qualified majority, after obtaining the consent of the European Parliament.
3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period.
4. For the purposes of paragraphs 2 and 3, the member of the European Council or of the Council representing the withdrawing Member State shall not participate in the discussions of the European Council or Council or in decisions concerning it.
A qualified majority shall be defined in accordance with Article 238(3)(b) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
5. If a State which has withdrawn from the Union asks to rejoin, its request shall be subject to the procedure referred to in Article 49."
The 2 years will run it's course, they'll vote on extending the deadline within the EU and they'll agree to it. So there'll be another 6/12 months of negotiation, and then both sides will say they won when really both have had to make massive concessions.

There is some "murder porn" element to it too, a need to revel in the misery of others.
Plus, the media and Government like to point at someone who shouts some support of ISIS/ISL/A.N.Other Terrorist Organisation immediately means it's the act of that group. Bullshit. If I run on to the pitch at Wembley during the FA Cup final and kick a ball in the back of Arsenal's net, it doesn't mean I've scored a goal for Man Utd. Those organisations want this labelling by the authorities to happen because it gives them credit. It legitimises what they do. It means they win by making your child who watches the 6pm news wet the bed from fear because of that link.
Fact is it's been 13 years since the last mass murder of people in the UK, and 5 are now dead. You have more chance of winning the lottery than being murdered by one of these scumbags. My fiancee's 14 year old sister loves Star Wars. This in itself baffles me, as when I was her age no girls at all liked anything sci-fi. Especially in deepest darkest Birmingham. But as a Christmas treat for her I took her to see Rouge One. She enjoyed it, I just sat there wondering what the hell was going on.

Yeah I noticed a video from him on YouTube telling the world why. Basically Discovery bought the show from Attaboy, and they wanted him to cut corners with the work on the cars to make it more of a "show". Basically cut back on the very thing that was interesting about the show. Mike Brewer's alright in small doses, but those doses have started to get bigger.
Ant Anstead is his replacement. He's the chap who was the mechanic on "For The Love Of Cars" with Philip Glennister. Not a bad replacement, although he's no Edd China or Fuzz Townsend. It is a shame. I learnt alot from Edd China on the program and he gave me the confidence to tinker with my own car (now cars).

You try working on a Microsoft Office document thats presented to you in a .docx format (for example), edit it in LibreOffice, and send it back to the client without the formatting or anything on that document breaking.
Trust me, from having been there and done that, Office 365 is the only course of action for us Linux types who have to use what the client gives us but don't want to dual boot a Windoze OS with an expensive copy of Office 2016 (or whatever) just for that one sole purpose.
That's what kind of Linux user would use OneDrive. A Linux user who has to put food on the table in a world where idiots still suck on the tit of Microsoft.
It's been like that for months, and I honestly thought it was my laptop that was the problem (running Debian 8). I'd often log in, then go away and get a drink for myself while it loaded whatever it needed. Scroll, often wait another minute for it to catch up, then click on what I needed. After that it was alright, but I only ever go on it for the one or two files anyway.
I didn't even think to try changing the user agent string. And what do you know? The moment I do it normal service is resumed!
But, that said, shame on me for using Office 365. I don't even need it anymore (had to have it while working for a client and their penchant for using .docx and other Office 2013 specific files that screwed up in LibreOffice).

Well, to be honest, Internet Explorer wasn't standards compliant for years. So if someone wants to build an open source browser that's standards compliant for the things that matter, and ignore this DRM Standard, then the original poster can do whatever the feck he likes.

That might be, but consider that Great Britain still has a number of countries under its commonwealth. So take those in to consideration, compare them to what Scotland, Wales and Ireland have got, Britain isn't doing too badly.

Sorry to be cynical but for a company that uses a slave labour camp in China to produce an over priced phone, they can do a bit more than just sharing "some" of the proceeds of those particular phones.
Oh I know the local authority needs to make savings (obviously authorities are the reason for the bank bailout in 2008, far too money risked on the stock market by those yobs). But there would still be more money in the local economy. So the money HMRC received in increased VAT, NI and general taxes would, in theory, pay for more stuff and less things would have to be cut.
BUT this idea is based on people in power being fair. Money went to where it was needed, not in to creating another manager/pen pusher role for "efficiency".
How many people could be taken off the dole in the UK or from zero hour contracts and put in to a UK based centre to do Crapita's job?
How much money would be saved?
How much money would be generated for the local economies where these centres are based?
Sometimes it strikes me that the only people who know how to run the country are either driving taxis, cutting hair, or commenting on El Reg articles.
