I stopped reading Instapundit because of, not so much Reynolds, some of the posters there falling into that category. I do not remember Glenn Reynolds ever mentioning Steve Sailer. Sailer, Reynolds, Ron Unz and me are late Boomers, a group that has been labeled “Generation Jones”. The Wikipedia article on them says they are less optimistic and more cynical than the early Boomers. We are less likely to think a leftist revolution would lead to a good outcome and more of us ended up on the political right.

I would be interested to hear what Reynolds and Sailer think of the rise of the democratic socialists. AOC is now saying Woke 1 was crazy. The Democrats have moved from saying defund the police and abolish the border to saying stop the rising prices and stop the stupid Iran war. Democratic socialism goes back to the nineteen thirties. All simply untrue. Nothing about a draft is good. Nothing.

First of all, understand that currently only 23% of youngsters in the draft-bait age range are even eligible to join the military. The rest simply don’t qualify for a variety of reasons, including criminal records, drug use, poor health, birth defects, inability to pass the ASVAB (the written entrance exam), dropping out of school and no high school diploma, etc.

The biggest cause is obesity. Americans of all ages are just too damned fat and a couple of months of basic training won’t reverse decades of no exercise and poor eating habits that resulted in lousy bodies. Those with poor organ development and poor bone health are the ones prone to getting injured during basic training, costing the military (mainly you, the taxpayer) a couple hundred thousand dollars in medical treatment and it ends with a medical discharge and no soldier to show for it.

About a quarter of those with high school diplomas don’t finish their enlistments and get “chaptered out” for one reason or another. For those lacking high school diplomas (probably picked up a GED somewhere), the rate is just over 50%. These are mostly people who should have never been in the military in the first place and they just waste everyone’s time by being there.

If someone is a “wuss,” as you describe, he’ll still be a wuss in the military. The military isn’t going to change someone’s basic nature, and putting a government-issued costume on someone won’t change that reality.

You noted youths wasting time while playing with their cell phones. About 15 years ago I paid a visit to Fort Lewis, WA, where a battalion was being loaded onto railway flatcars at the post’s railhead for transport to desert warfare training in southern California at Fort Irwin. The Army civilian employee rail crew mentioned their disgust with most of the “soldiers” on site — they were playing with their cell phones while a critical handful were doing all of the real work.

This is typical throughout the military. A critical core do most of the work and so many just goof off.

Something else to keep in mind, besides the fact that only 23% of youths even qualify for entering the military, there is no justification for rounding up everyone with no job or nothing better to do and putting them in the military. The military doesn’t have enough units, enough barracks buildings, enough positions, etc., to put them somewhere, employ them toward some positive end, and also dedicate countless careerists to being their supervisors to direct their activities. It would just be a costly waste of everyone’s time.

It would also be crazy expensive. Inducting, training, clothing, housing, feeding soldiers is not cheap at all, and if you draft most of the youth into the military, the taxes you would have to pay would rise very sharply.

People like to think that a draft would “straighten out” today’s youth but that just can’t happen. For one thing, the military can’t absorb all of the nation’s youth or even the 23% who qualify. Even if it could, that would mean the other 77%, also known as “the vast majority,” would never see the inside of the military and would remain unaffected. Since only a fraction of the 23% can go into the military, that means the portion of today’s youth in need of “straightening out” and can actually be put into uniform is ridiculously tiny. A draft would simply have no overall impact on today’s youth.

Something else to keep in mind that the environment in which soldiers live and work is not conducive to “straightening out” anyone. There’s no shortage of racial tension, theft, drug dealing and drug use, alcoholism, brutality, sexual assaults (and not just of women), etc., and outside a post or base you’ll probably see the worst society has to offer — strip clubs, brothels, crime-filled areas, surplus shops where you can sell stolen field gear and uniforms, etc. I’ve never seen a good area outside of a Navy base, and the city of Fayetteville, NC, outside of Fort Bragg, especially Hay Street downtown, hardly needs any introduction. Equivalent examples exist beyond the gates of so many, if not most, military posts.

The whole idea of a draft to improve people is also just nuts. The military is a branch of a government that lies, cheats, steals, etc., so how do you expect a branch of that government to improve anyone’s behavior, morals, etc.? People act like the military is a completely separate entity, and it most definitly is not.

I think everyone needs to understand the Fed may set the Fed Funds rate, but they do that by following the free market lead. But the media presents this information the other way around – they want you to believe the Fed is almighty and sets interest rates. This is false, if they did then t-bills would be flat lines on the chart. Currently, short T-Bill rates are climbing higher and higher above the Fed Funds rate. In the next several board meetings, if the trend continues, the Fed is going to be forced to follow, as this chart shows:

We are nearing the end of the Federal Reserve system. The Fed has managed to wreck the US economy through decades of cheap credit. In 113 years from 1913, the Fed is going to face it’s maker, the US bond market is starting to blow up – with no respite. Congress and Trumpenstein have no fiscal discipline. If we are facing decades long climbing interest rates, how does that work out when interest is already the largest budget item?

Your comment is correct except at the end here, where you underestimate Jewish insanity. This statement presumes that Jews have some limit to their desire for subversion that they reach and then become satiated and quit, but that isn’t the case. Seismograms from underground nuclear detonations (test shots) aren’t going to help, and neither are earthquake charts. They’re a very different kettle of fish than the nuclear devices we’re considering here. Strictly speaking, we do not even know if they’re nuclear bombs in any real sense. There’s a fairly big greyzone between outright explosives and pulsed reactors of various types. Looking at the correlations in the USGS data, my best guess is that we’re dealing with an “exploding Lifter”, or LFTR reactor (LFTR stands for liquid flouride thorium salts). The whole design question is interesting in its own right, meeting various objectives including environmental ones whilst also minimising the bang for the buck, if you’ll excuse the expression, i.e. ensuring as small detonations as possible relative to the plasma required to do the job of softening up the building.

You mistakenly pointed to the seismogram for the North Tower impact event, thinking it depicted a plane hitting the tower and little else. The shape of the chart is “triangular” with heavy skew to the right, so that fits your preconceived notions. In reality, however, the shape is triangular because it includes two separate but slightly overlapping shock events: first a very powerful detonation in the basement, then the airliner impact 9 seconds later.

Note also that none of these shock events occur at the beginning of the chart where the activity starts to rise, but they occur about midway into the hump for each respective shock. The North Tower basement detonation shock would sit approximately 3 seconds in, at 16 seconds on the time scale in the chart; the plane impact then happens another 9 seconds later, at 25 seconds on the time scale. The activity registered to the left of the shock is just a matter of distribution, which is symmetric left and right. We know that from the South Tower impact chart as well as the Building 7 detonation chart, both of which shock humps are symmetric in the charts.

This same pattern carries over to the Twin Towers detonation shocks, which are truly huge in comparison. We’re talking 2,400 aus in activity compared to 60 for the airliners hitting the towers, or 80 for the detonations that cut down Building 7. So that’s 30-40x higher, and considering the much-poorer coupling of a semi-open pit detonation compared to shaped charges, the explosive yields must be still far higher than that.

There is absolutely no way the dropping towers could account for all that activity by sheer concussion or percussion as the building materials hit the ground. Absolutely no way, and adding in a ton of explosives isn’t going to fill that kind of gap even with tight coupling. I’ve discussed the energy gap extensively in many previous comments, especially on Mark Gaffney’s last piece. It is also discussed in Wayne Coste’s paper, but again, as I have pointed out repeatedly, Mr Coste avoids the seismic aspect of that question as it doesn’t fit with his thermite hoax.

The basement detonations right before the North Tower airliner went in are quite sizable, we’re talking 180 aus of activity showing in the charts. Presumably that’s with tight as coupling as with Building 7, which would imply that about half a ton of explosives were detonated in preparatory cutting. So that chart will give you a pointer as to what a ton of explosives would buy you in terms of seismic activity. It’s not peanuts, for sure, but when compared to the huge humps in the Twin Towers collapse charts, well, it actually is peanuts.

In Nuclear 9/11, these preparatory blasts are necessary in order to cut a number of major pipe connections and thus prevent the blast from ramifying through the storm- and wastewater systems that feed into the city’s lines. Some of these were five-foot pipes, which explains the need for massive detonations to cut them off. I say this as an aside, as there is confusion about the purpose of those (tightly synced) basement detonations. Nuclear 9/11 has a clear answer, although it is admittedly hard to conclusively prove what precisely blew down there. I’ve given it a good stab, parsing Matt Nelson’s excellent book as well as other sources.

The impulse-response models you’re talking about may be of academic interest, but really don’t seem to serve much of a purpose as an explanatory tool. I have some background in maths and stats myself, and worked quite a bit on stochastic transfer function models albeit applied to other fields. But I don’t talk like that in here, as it just isn’t necessary for the purpose. My claim is that the charts show what I’ve said they’re showing. You think not, but when I look at your interpretations, they just don’t make sense. You’re looking for things that shouldn’t be there, and when you don’t find it, you draw the wrong conclusions. It’s those glasses again. Take them off and just see the charts for what they are, without all that impulse-response stuff, deep nukes or what have you. Sometimes things are a lot simpler than one expects them to be.

The seismic evidence is just part of the pile of evidence in support of Nuclear 9/11. In total, I’ve found four mutually independent paths to proving 9/11 was a nuclear event.

The seismics become relevant in comparing the collapses of the Twin Towers to Building 7, which I have accounted for and which you ought to see by now. It’s totally inescapable as the energy gap is truly colossal and totally outside the conventional ballpark. Since the detonations must be underground with the explosives placed in a very particular place, the only workable option is nuclear. Conventional or thermite just won’t cut it.

The second proof route also involves the energy gap, but assessed internally (rather than comparatively) in terms of sources and uses of energy in the collapse of the Twin Towers. This is what Wayne Coste also concerns himself with, and he too rightly identifies a massive energy gap. One can argue about the numbers, but not about the existence of a massive deficit that must be filled by a hidden energy source. We’re not talking a ton of dynamite here but hundreds of tons of TNT. Mr Coste “solves” that by invoking the thermite fairy secretly rigging the towers top-to-bottom with 1,900 tons of nanothermite. To normal people, that’s a reductio ad absurdum. But then I suppose that one man’s reductio ad absurdum is another man’s ironclad proof. Or aluminothermically clad proof perhaps.

The third proof route looks at the dust samples collected by USGS in the week following 9/11, and identifies certain correlation patterns in the concentrations of “nuclear” elements. More specifically, we’re talking a tight correlation cluster including uranium, thorium, lithium, beryllium, and also lithium. We can talk more about this correlation cluster later, what it involves and how it should be interpreted.

The fourth and final proof route looks at the data on thyroid cancer amongst 9/11 responders and 9/11 survivors. The data reveal massively elevated incidence rates, primarily for responders but also significantly for survivors. Unsurprisingly, the responders that worked on the pile were harder hit than others. Thyroid cancer is, of course, the “nuclear” cancer par excellence, with no other established environmental cause than exposure to radioiodine, a short-lived fission product.

All in all, I think the evidence supporting Nuclear 9/11 is quite strong, decidedly stronger than for any other competing theory. Also note that the evidence supporting Nuclear 9/11 all comes from official sources, as opposed to the (supposed) thermite evidence which comes from privately-collected dust samples with an iffy chain of custody. It is doubtful whether that could even be considered as “evidence” in any real sense, as it probably wouldn’t even be admissible in a court of law. None of these kinds of objections apply to Nuclear 9/11, but only to the thermite hoax. In fact, it wouldn’t be a hoax if the evidence were legit and kosher, but now it’s not.

Those comments about WW2 atrocities are still important and relevant today.
