Public feedback is now open as the Civil Service Commission (CSC) narrows down the candidates advancing to the semifinals of the 2026 Gawad Lingkod Bayani.
To help ensure only the most deserving public servants are recognized, community members are invited to submit first-hand experiences, observations, or insights, whether positive or negative, concerning any individual or group nominee.
All submissions must be received on or before 12 August 2026 to guide the final evaluation process.

In support of the government's efforts to strengthen mental health services in basic education, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the Qualification Standards (QS) for newly created school counselor positions in public basic education institutions pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 12080, or the Basic Education Mental Health and Well-Being Promotion Act.
Through CSC Resolution No. 2600920 promulgated on 30 June 2026, the Commission approved the QS for the plantilla positions of Schools Division Counselor, School Counselor I to IV, and School Counselor Associate I to V in the Department of Education (DepEd).
CSC Chairperson Marilyn B. Yap said the approved QS will help ensure that qualified mental health professionals are deployed in schools, reinforcing the government's commitment to promoting the mental health and overall well-being of Filipino learners.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has issued a stern warning against individuals and groups unlawfully using the agency's name, logo, and official identity, stressing that violators may face criminal prosecution and imprisonment.
The Commission emphasized that it has not authorized any individual, organization, review center, or entity to use the CSC name, logo, or even its former emblem for any activity, promotion, solicitation, recruitment campaign, production of materials, enrollment drives, or other undertakings.

Government agencies now have clearer guidelines and greater flexibility in implementing a four-day compressed workweek, following recent amendments by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
CSC Chairperson Marilyn B. Yap noted that the updates on the Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) policy align with ongoing efforts to modernize public sector work, promote employee well-being, and maintain service excellence.
“The amendments provide government agencies with greater flexibility in organizing work schedules that benefit civil servants while ensuring that public services remain accessible to citizens,” Chairperson Yap said.
