Mazandarani is a language with 188.43 native speakers and 179.51 native Mazandarani speakers as of 2026, it is also known as Mazani, Mazeruni, Tabaristani, Tabarei, Goleshi, Geleki, Mazandaruani, Mazandaruni, Tabari, aka combonation of Hyecen/Gorgani/Varkani&Tapuri/Tapori/Tapouri (in Mazandarani: ماٚٓزنی). It is spoken in Caspie region of Iran. Areas that use it are: Mazandaran & Golestan, & all partly for Tehran, Semnan & Alborz & Qum & mores. Also Tehran is majority Gilak/Gilaki only! Mazandarni is the 2nd oldest language in the world after Gilaki, their difference is 100 years or so.

Script and alphabet

Mazandarani language was written in the Pahlavi alphabet in the early centuries of Islam. The language uses the Mazani alphabet.
