My name is Yucheol Shin. I'm a PhD student at the American Museum of Natural History. I do research on:
- Island biogeography
- Genome evolution in insular snake populations
- Herp population genomics & bioegeography
- Ecological niche modeling
- Herpetology of northeast Asia
My research projects often involve snakes and salamanders, with an overarching interest in understanding how organisms (especially herps) respond to major environmental changes across space and time, and at different scales (from genomes to geographic distributions).
