API Definition: swagger.json file location

Can we move the swagger.json file from wwwroot/.azurefunctions/swagger -> wwwroot/.swagger ? So we can upload files from FTP, Git integration etc?

This would allow for outside creation of the file in other Editors with Swagger extensions etc., then could also support versioning in source control.

You can upload the file and/or have git integration, version control with file in the current location. I have tested these scenarios.

@soninaren correct the location is /.azurefunctions/swagger/swagger.json

host.json only sets the following information concerning the file:

  "swagger": {
    "enabled": true
  }
}

There is no location node stating where the file exists.

Is there a ways to define a different location?

For example: wwwroot/docs/swagger.json

Currently there is no way to define a location for swagger file. Is there a specific reason you are looking to configure the file location?

@soninaren organization. Developers want to put stuff where they want to put stuff.

./azurefunctions seems explicit and rigid.

Thanks for the feedback,

At the moment we'll leave this as-is seeing as it doesn't block any scenario. All function settings are defined based on absolute path like this, and it allows us to deliver features quicker to know we have a consistent file system across Function Apps.
