'Yes Prime Minister' is not a farce. It's a documentary.
I think it's a far more realistic (and oddly, also fairer) portrayal of the realities of government than any of the more flashy shows like 'The Thick of it' or 'House of Cards'. Partly because half the stories it used were loosely based on real events.
