David Sims The Atlantic Nash wants the viewer to engage with the pure terror of what’s going on just as much as he wants them to sit in the tedium of it. The result is a film as worthy as its predecessors - and one of the most unsettling examples of the genre I’ve seen in years. May 30, 2024 Full Review Barry Hertz Globe and Mail In a Violent Nature is the most thrilling, terrifying, gross and often quite funny reworking of the slasher genre in ages. May 29, 2024 Full Review Keith Uhlich Slant Magazine Think Béla Tarr doing an unholy doc-fiction hybrid about Camp Crystal Lake. Rated: 3.5/4 May 28, 2024 Full Review Aglaia Berlutti El nacional Chris Nash's “In A Violent Nature” transforms the familiar premise of a slasher based on an unstoppable killer into a bloody exploration of evil. [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: A+ May 30, 2024 Full Review Luis Bond Diario las Américas Chris Nash turns around 180 degrees (literally) how the typical slasher is told and gives us a film that, although it is identical to thousands, at the same time, is unlike anything we have enjoyed in the cinema [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 May 30, 2024 Full Review Molly Henery The Blogging Banshee In a Violent Nature is a daring reimagination of the classic slasher that takes a more meditative approach, while still delivering unflinching gore. Jesus Brutal, unflinching, atmospheric and unique to see a horror film from beginning to end be seen through the killers perspective. Definitely had Friday the 13th vibes all over and I believe we just witnessed a new serial killer added to the genre that will keep us coming back for more. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Caleb C Well made but a slow burn style movie, I found it boring Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Carlos R. A nice looking and well shot film. With very creative kills, somehow it is still one of the most, if not the most, boring horror films I’ve seen. There’s barely any fight or flight from the characters. All of the performances fluctuates from wooden to over acting. IDK how much of that is due to poor dialogue or poor delivery. Feels like both. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Joseph M Some slow pacing but some gruesome moments make up for the rest. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review William G Brutal and atmospheric.. love the point of view it takes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Mitch M All the negative reviews are insane. This is a 10/10 movie that is a slow burn and has some of the best cinematography I've seen in a horror movie.
