Wokism: In historical practice, it’s actual definition is “Ideological favoritism marked with vitriol and censorship directed at any and all opposing viewpoints; the destruction of civil discourse.” Wokism, Socialism, Fascism: different names, different blueprints, same tyranny.

TURNOUT: We estimate that 27% of youth cast a ballot in 2022—the second-highest youth turnout we have seen in a midterm election. In battleground states, we estimate that turnout was even higher: 31%. This is an early, day-after estimate that may shift!

anywho, even though we never crossed paths, despite our childhood homes being only a few miles apart, i remain incredibly grateful to toni morrison, who i suspect will continue to greatly influence my reflections on home and my analyses on placemaking.

northeast ohio is complicated for many reasons, but the stories they tell about this area ignores the complex experiences of racialized space and placemaking in american life. (i’m talking to you, journalists who cover electoral politics.)
