Ambassador Natalya Drozd took up the post of the Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat on 9 July 2016. A career diplomat from Belarus, Ambassador Drozd was the first Ambassador of her country to Italy and concurrently to Malta (1998 – 2002). Natalya Drozd represented Belarus in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and served as the Deputy Chairperson of the Commission. Ambassador Drozd also held the position of Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Skopje (2005-2013).

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality (marked on 12 December 2020), Ambassador Drozd was awarded the state order ‘Bitaraplyk’ (Neutrality), by the Government of Turkmenistan, for her contribution in furthering international relations and the strengthening of co-operation between the OSCE and Turkmenistan.
