Please reinstate the older version of YAHOO Finance - It was PERFECT.
The older version was PERFECT. The landing page had the following , which gave me more control & choice
- Headlines & news sorted & organized (All Finance Top News My Quotes Yahoo Originals Personal Finance Market News)
- Links to portfolios & charts which were customizable
- Links to videos & other stuffBut the beta site lacks
- Ability to customize charts/portfolios
- Takes a very long time to load the landing page as it loads all my portfolios, which is not useful at all
- Not at all organizedChange for the sake of change is never…

Don't think it's a good idea to change the way Yahoo Finance is organized
The web designers need to balance the 'But this is better!' impulse to improve web pages with the realization that people don't like to change the way they use a web interface without a VERY good reason. I was OK with how Yahoo Finance looked - I knew how to navigate my way around the site and so forth. Looking at this beta site, it's plain that information is presented differently, and it doesn't seem like the change is worth it. This makes me less willing to use the site, and more willing to switch to something like google finance…

3rd rankedThanks for your comments about Yahoo Finance. Portfolios are available to logged in users on the left side of all pages in the section labeled Watchlists & Markets.
Once logged in, clicking on a Portfolio’s name will open a wider view, with sortable and customizable columns of data. Customize which columns appear by clicking the Columns button. You can, as before, add and edit lots. Additional columns will be added shortly.
We will continue to refine this important feature, incorporating feedback from users.

What happened to the link to the Message Board?
So where is the link to the Message Board? The redesign should have been announced with a Preview to get feedback before implementation. Yahoo keeps springing these redesign surprises - fire Melissa!

I HATE THE NEW FINANCE PAGE SET UP!!!! The start up screen has my news? It's not my news and does not refdlect what I want to see or read.
The guess about news relevant to me is far from relevant. The giant header takes up too much screen space. The number of columns is one too many. It is nice to have the most recent stock searches on the left as it did previously. When you list all associated stories as it does now it is not still relevant and requires more scrolling. I want to start with general financial news of the day. your going to chase me away! Bloomberg hear I come...

It looks pretty but doesn't seem polished enough for release.
I'm betting 404 errors on symbol searches and can't find the message board links. These things seem kinda fundamental to me when it comes to offering a finance website.
It is clean though. I'll like it when the kinks are out; however, it should be optional to the public whether they want to be a beta tester.

The new version of Yahoo Finance is awful. Need to change back to the old one.
I can still access the old finance site on my old computer with an old version of Windows and it is not just the new site format that sucks. It is missing information too that the old site had!! For example, if you look under news for BRCD in the old site, you will have several articles in the last couple weeks, one from investors business daily and another Briefing headline saying BRCD upgraded at Goldman. Well on the new version, these artilces and headlines are NOWHERE to be found under the news. And why is the news divided in…

What happened to customizable charts & portfolios?
What happened to the various default views such as Basic, DayWatch, Performance, Real-Time, Fundamentals & Detailed?
What happened to the hundreds of fields categorized by Basic, Details, Pre/After Market, Fundamentals, Moving Averages & Portfolios that I could choose from to create my own view?
What happened to the ability to define the default order/sort within a single portfolio & across multiple portfolios?
What happened to the ability to download set alerts?
The only button I see is "+Columns", with access to barely 20 fields but does NOT even let me check / uncheck any box let alone allow customization.Yahoo…

Technical indicators are still available on interactive charts. They can be found by clicking any sparkline or by clicking the double-arrow icon on top of the small chart on ticker pages.
We continue to enhance the site with additional data, in part, based on feedback from users.

Additionally, indices, commodities, currencies, etc. are available in the left-side “data utility” column. Clicking each section title, brings up additional data.
We will continue to gather feedback on this design and make enhancement, in part, based on it.

Don't like the beta version.
For one it is too wide for a 1280x1024 monitor. It is hard to see the news stories for a ticker when they are too far off the right hand of the screen. And when scrolling down in the page using chrome various parts of the page become overlaid with one another making it unreadable (rendering problem). And what happened to the Market Pulse? This was useful for seeing very current information. The old finance page was much better, why try to overcomplicate it?
One of the best design priniciples is KISS!

Let's discuss Yahoo's portfolio tracker competitors:
Yahoo: Falling apart like the other 99 parts of yahoo. What a messed up management. They owned the web in 2000.
Morningstar: $30/m but worth it. More headers, some glitches,
Zacks: good data, limited portfolio tracker columns
FinViz: testing it out
Any others or thoughts?

I cannot use the new Yahoo Finance
I lost all my note from my old Yahoo Finance and collapse my stocks for the same stock that I bough from different time. I just cannot use it. I cannot wait for yahoo to fix it. I have to switch.

Portfolios/Watchlists should have news turned off by default
These watchlists/portfolios should the news turned off by default -- we want to see the data, not the news. At the very least, there should be an option to turn on/off the news, and view the entire watchlist/portfolio table.
