number of machines in a heterogeneous environment.
Samba
A suite of programs which work together to allow clients to access Unix filespace and printers via the SMB (Session Message Block) protocol.

An interpreted language optimized for scanning arbitrary text files, extracting
information from those text files, and printing reports based on that information.
It's also a good language for many system management tasks.
