An alternative method is to use an older Kindle device to transfer the books to Calibre.

And closing that loophole is probably a big part of the motivation for this action...

I expect older versions of the Kindle-for-PC app to be locked out in the near future as well.

You realise that 'commentary' is from 2012, right? You still quoting it as a 'proof' that PHP is bad just shows you have no recent knowledge of the language other than prejudices perpetuated on the internet.

You can write crappy code in any language, if we stopped using C/C++ because of all the people who don't know how to check for buffer overflows, we'd have to shut down most of the internet.

Strange that that is your experience, as the whole thing about Vivaldi is that you can customize the UI to an almost ridiculous extend.

It's the prime reason I switched to it, myself, as I (also) have certain solid opinions on how my browser should look, and what certain hotkeys should do.

The only other browser that gave me as many options was the old Presto-era Opera, but that went the way of the dodo when they switched to the Chromium engine.
