I would disagree on his popularity - Labour got a big landslide, primarily because the electorate was sick of the Tories & so Conservative vote plummeted- that did not really mean Starmer was truly popular.

In terms of vote share just over a 1/3 so the big majority is just a flaw of UK FPTP system * (not helped by some dodgy constituency boundaries)

In terms of number of votes cast, less than Corbyn Labour got in losing 2019 election to shagger Johnson.

* A huge argument in favour of some form of PR
