The welfare bill isn't crushing the rest of the country. [Unless you are drinking too much Farage's delusional kool-aid.] Most of that welfare bill goes on the state pension. Which means there's little scope to reduce it even if politicians wanted to and had the balls to see it through. Which of course they don't.
