And just in time as I was getting tired of my current linux distro so now was the perfect time to make the switch. The retro feel and the access to so many things from an era that was lost in the past. The new Commodore Basic 2.0 is another huge plus as I still had paper printouts of some of the programs I wrote as a kid and just didnt have to heart to part with them going all the way back to 1986. While the promotional material talks about reliving an 80s experience and the ability to run all those nostalgic games and applications it it a mess to use and generally annoying, even for my retro gaming fanatic kids. Tone down the excessive styling, making screens easier to rad and understand, would be a good start. After that deal with the instability and inconsistency issues and it might be both a good retro Commodore experience and a useful daily driver Was this review helpful? Yes No Version: 3.1 Rating: 5 Date: 2026-05-01 Country: Brazil Votes: 0 Much worse that the earlier version. Evolution is preinstalled but doesn't run. Some Flatpak apps don't run either including FlatSeal, Birdtray and Kmahjongg (although Thunderbird does). Betterbird installs and runs but the panel icon displayed for new mail is just an error symbol. I sort of gave up after that since searching for whatever dependencies might be missing looked to be a drawn out and potentially fruitless task. IMO too many parts of this OS have been cobbled together from different sources which is an invitation for instability. I really do like the concept but their testing process needs much more attention before this can be risked in a production environment. Was this review helpful?
