-Three days until the wedding.
"Oh, I still can't believe our son is finally getting married, and just recently it seemed like I wouldn't live to see it!"
"And more importantly, your crush is from the Dumont family, and they've long thought that our families are destined to clash forever. Finally, this absurd feud will come to an end!"
"Mom, Dad, I understand you're happy, but can I talk to Victoria already? We've spent almost all our time talking to you today. Can't I just spend a minute with her?"
"Sorry, Charles, but you'll have time to spend with Victoria later, and time with your parents is worth its weight in gold, am I right, dear? Ouch!" - A sudden elbow from his wife brought Charles's father back to his senses.
"Um, your father would want you to remember us when you start your new adult life, and now it's time for us to go and continue the wedding preparations, and you go see Victoria."
"Yes, of course, that's what I wanted to do, thank you." - With these words, Charles walked up to the second floor of the mansion and approached the room he shared with Victoria.
"Knock-knock, may I come in?"
"Of course, you don't have to knock," - Victoria said, applying makeup in front of the mirror.
"Hello, sorry I'm just getting here now. My parents have been nagging me with their lessons and reminiscing this morning. Are they bothering you?"
"You know, I think you're very lucky with your parents. They're loving and caring. Not everyone has that."
"Will your parents be any trouble? Last time we all met, your father grinned so wickedly, it looked like he was ready to eat me alive!"
"He was trying so hard to smile. You know, you can't please them, but I told them everything, and I hope they heard me."
"You're a good girl. And you know, I have a good feeling – may my confidence rub off on you." - Charles said, hugging his future bride.
"You're so sweet, after all."
"And after the wedding, we'll buy a small, secluded house where no one will find us. Preferably somewhere by the sea."
"Let's not think too far ahead, okay?"
-Two days before the wedding.
"No, no, no... Maybe..."
"It won't work."
"And if..."
"It won't work too."
"Woman, how do you know what I'm thinking if I haven't even had a chance to tell you?"
"Because I've been living with you too long, and you're so predictable."
At the Dumont family estate, Victoria's parents were plotting vile plans, targeting their own daughter and her soulmate.
"Are you sure Victoria won't change her mind?" - said Morgan, the father of the Dumont family.
"She won't change her mind. And it's too late for arguments." - replied Lucia, his wife.
"Why, of all the animals on the planet, did she choose this childish idiot? And from the family of those vile Werners, no less? We haven't spent generations at odds just so our daughter could take the name of our enemies - it's an insult to all our ancestors!"
"You're too fixated on the past. Never mind your ancestors, think about the future. We're already disrespected. Those Werners already visit us like they're their own, but imagine what will happen after the wedding? This family may seem like a bunch of harmless idiots, but I can see they're after our riches."
"Woman, if you knew the history of my dynasty better, you'd understand me. About a hundred years ago, a girl from our family was supposed to marry a powerful man, who later became Prime Minister. We could have become one of the most influential families in the country, but at the last minute she was kidnapped by some thug from the Werner family"
"Kidnapped? Right before the wedding?"
"I didn't go into all the details, but yes, that's how it happened. Of course, the Werners later made up a beautiful story about her running away with one of them, but our family never believed that. Even the deepest love wouldn't make someone choose a rich politician over some... Werner."
"You know, I actually made something up. Do you remember that wolf, Jacob, who was our daughter's ex-boyfriend?"
"Wait, you want to invite that jerk to show up at the wedding and ask for our daughter's hand in marriage right during the ceremony? That's hardly a better option than this Charles!"
"No, that's not what I meant." He was always a scumbag, but then he got involved in crime and went to prison for robbery. I found out he was recently released, but people like him can't live in peace. I'm thinking of exploiting him and his former connection to our daughter. I'll explain it to you now."
-One day before the wedding.
"I can't believe I agreed to this. Before I change my mind, let's discuss the plan. But first, why is she here? Is she your new girlfriend or what?" - Morgan asked.
"She's my partner in crime, treat her with respect if you want my help, okay?" - Jacob snapped.
"I'm Dana, by the way, in case you were wondering." - She said, blowing a cloud of cigarette smoke right into Morgan's face.
"Ahem, fine, I'll pretend you're not here. Let's get to the point. So, our daughter is getting married, and Lucia and I don't want the ceremony to happen"
"I had some thoughts about getting revenge on Vika, but having her own parents ask for it - that was something I didn't expect. Why me?" - Jacob was a little surprised.
"Wait, is this the ex you were telling me about? The one who dumped you? Well, I wouldn't mind ruining her and her boyfriend's wedding!" - Dana responded enthusiastically.
"I'd do anything for Vika, even rob a jewelry store. And what did I get in return? She turned me in to the cops!" - Jacob said indignantly.
"First of all, don't call her Vika. Secondly, you decided to do this yourself, no one forced you. Don't shift the blame onto our daughter." - Lucia, who had been standing and looking out the window, interjected.
"Why are we even here? What do you want from us? And what's in it for us?" - Jacob asked.
"Our family is rich, we have a lot to offer. You two are required to kidnap our daughter and this Charles of hers on her wedding day. Everything will be framed as your retribution for her refusal, and no one will suspect us." - Lucia explained.
"So you're using me and then setting me up? That doesn't sound like a good deal to me. You can't spend money in prison, you know." - Jacob protested.
"For the money we give, you both have enough money to buy a two-story house in another country. Two one-story houses in different countries, if you like. When you submit the ransom note, your reward will be the ransom for our daughter, plus the entire share the Werners contribute for rescuing their son." - Lucia continued explaining.
"The ceremony will be held in an old church on the edge of town. Only close relatives and a few friends will be there, no security or anything like that. This was our daughter's wish; the Werners' negative influence is evident. If it were a normal wedding, it would be held in an expensive restaurant, but no. And the church was chosen for a reason; it has special symbolism – about a hundred years ago there..." - Morgan launched into history.
"No one's interested, Morgan." - Lucia said, looking at Jacob and Dana's bored expressions.
"So what next? We get the ransom, and then we just let the captives go? What's stopping them from having the wedding in a couple of days, only this time with a ton of security at the ceremony?" - Dana asked.
"We hope our daughter will see how pathetic Charles is, unable to protect himself and her on the most important day of their lives. And if not, then we'll have an excuse to keep our daughter locked up, to protect her from further assassination attempts and keep the Werners away from her. And then we'll have time to figure out what to do next. Maybe we'll even find a better suitor for her hand. Is that clearer?" - Morgan explained.
"And you're willing to ruin your daughter's wedding just because you don't like her fiance? You know, I’ve done not only good things in my life and it’s not for me to judge you, but this is disgusting even for me.” - Jacob said.
"Sometimes the future of a family is more important than the happiness of its individual members. And anyway, it's none of your business. You've done robberies before, so you have experience. And a motive that a typical hired goon wouldn't have. It's your choice. If you refuse, you'll lose a ton of money." - Lucia declared.
"And one more thing. After you show up at the wedding and reveal your identity, there will come a time when I'll play the role of a caring father and try to attack you, and you'll hit me back, but not too hard, okay?" - Morgan said.
"You know, I was ready to refuse, but when I heard I'd get paid for punching you in the face, I just can't resist this assignment. In fact, I was willing to pay extra just to hit you harder! And you, with me?" - Jacob asked Dana.
"Why not? I think if they pay well, it's worth the risk and it seems like a simple job." - Dana said.
"Grrr, wonderful. We'll tell you where and what time to arrive, and not a second later!" - Morgan declared.
"And one last thing. Don't you dare harm our daughter. You can just scare her a little, but no beatings, cuts or wounds. You can do whatever you want with Charles, we don't care. If we find even one bruise, we'll find you on the other side of the world, understand?" - Lucia declared.
"Yes, yes, pretend you care about your daughter, we'll get everything ready and do as you say." - Jacob said.
After agreeing on the plan and its details, Jacob and Dana left the Dumont estate.
"So, we'll just do as they say?" - Dana asked.
"You know, I feel sorry for very few people in this whole thing. Those rich scoundrels with their shady schemes always look down on people like me. I think we'll adjust the plan, do it our way." - Jacob said.
"Yes, that's our way." - Dana said with a smile.
-The wedding day.
The ceremony had already begun in the church, and the Dumonts were the most nervous of the guests.
"Where are they? I told you my plan to poison Charles was much better and more reliable, but no!" - Morgan whispered.
"Quiet, be quiet!" - Lucia snapped.
"Do you agree to take Victoria as your wife?" - the priest asked.
"Yes, I agree." - Charles replied with a beaming smile.
"Do you agree to take Charles as your husband?"
"I..." - Victoria didn't have time to finish her sentence before the door loudly opened, and two menacing masked figures appeared in the doorway - "Oops, sorry. Are we late?" - an unknown man and woman pointed guns directly at the wedding guests.
"What? Who is this? Is this some kind of prank? The honor of the event?" - The guests began to ask.
"Shut up, everyone! I'm here to clarify something. You see..." - said the intruder, removing his mask and quickly scanning everyone in the room - "I think it's unfair that my ex-girlfriend is marrying some mongrel."
"Hey, that's our son! How dare you!" - said Charles's mother.
"I told you to shut up!" - said the female burglar.
"And you came here to ruin a wedding? Are you that petty and cruel?" - asked Victoria.
"Wait. Is this the same crazy wolf who was harassing you?" - Charles asked, surprised.
"Harassing? She told you this? We were dating, we were in love, until she left me... for you! And now I'll get my revenge!" - Jacob said dramatically.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Your turn" - Lucia whispered, elbowing her husband.
"No way! Don't you dare touch my daughter, I'll... Ow!" - Jacob punched Morgan, who had run up to him, in the nose with all his might, causing him to fall to the ground - "Ow, that hurt, damn it!"
"Stay away from me!" - Jacob screamed.
"Father! You..." - Victoria tried to come to her father's aid.
"Stop! You're both coming with us!" - the attackers aimed their guns at the couple everyone had gathered to see today - "Don't you dare follow us if you don't want them to get hurt. And if you want to see them alive, you'll comply with our terms. For now, goodbye, happy holidays everyone."
The two kidnappers led their two victims to the back of a van parked nearby.
"You keep them at gunpoint, and I'll drive. Be careful with them, I'm afraid you might hurt them." - Jacob said to Dana.
"Come on, get moving!" Dana dragged the pair into the van, and they drove off in an unknown direction.
"Excuse me... I understand who the wolf is, but who are you and why are you doing this?" - Charles asked warily.
"Don't talk to her. Apparently, she's just like him—a criminal without an ounce of conscience." - Victoria said disapprovingly.
"You have such a low opinion of me - we haven't even met. If anything, I'm Dana, pleaaased to meet you..." - she said, removing her mask - "This stupid masquerade was more for theatrical effect... And Jacob was telling me about you, saying you were a real bitch, now I see he wasn't lying."
"Don't you dare insult my spouse, you..." - Charles tried to defend Victoria.
"Quiet, dude, you've suddenly gotten too bold. I have the gun, not you, don't forget." - Dana reminded him.
After what felt like an eternity for the captives, the van pulled up to a trailer in the middle of nowhere – Jacob and Dana's temporary base.
"So, here we are. Get ready." - Dana smiled.
"Get ready? For what?" - Charles asked cautiously.
"Humiliation." - Dana replied.
"So? Did they really get on your nerves?" - Jacob asked, opening the van doors.
"You know, yeah, especially the groom. Always trying to protect his sweetheart, though he always backed down in the face of a gun - he lacks the courage." - Dana noted.
"Look, we can come to an agreement. Let Victoria go, and I'll stay as your hostage. How about that?" - Charles asked.
"Hmm, you're not such a coward, but it won't work – we'll get ransom for both of you." - Jacob replied.
"Jacob, that's enough, this is between us. Charles has nothing to do with this. It's not his fault that I left you. You've changed and now you can't stop. You..." - Victoria tried to reach Jacob's conscience, but it didn't work.
"Quiet, I'm tired of your whining. Dana, tell me – do you like this wedding dress? How much money can it fetch?" - Jacob wondered.
"And the groom's suit doesn't look bad either. And I wonder what he looks like without it?" - Dana smirked.
"What are you saying?" - Charles asked, alarmed.
"Yes, that's right, take off your clothes, we'll take them for ourselves." - Jacob declared.
"You're going too far! Wasn't kidnapping us enough?" - Dana asked angrily.
"This is just the beginning – now get to it, make each other happy." - Jacob said, pointing a gun at the couple.
"S-sorry, Victoria. For not being able to protect me and for all of this..." - Charles mumbled, starting to take off his clothes.
"It's okay, it's not your fault. You could have done nothing about it." - Dana replied understandingly, also removing her wedding dress.
Soon Charles was stripped to his red boxer-briefs, and Victoria to her white bra and panties. Charles tried to cover himself and looked down, while Victoria held her arms over her chest and glared at her captors.
"We're tired of your talking, so we decided it was time to shut you up. There are more ways to express love than just words, you know." - Dana said, taking a roll of duct tape in each hand.
"And if we promise to keep quiet, maybe you won't..." - Charles asked timidly.
"No, nice guy. That won't do. You'll end up gagging with this tape. First wrap the tape around your head, then around your snout, is that clear?" - Dana instructed the captives.
Victoria and Charles had no choice but to comply at gunpoint, and soon both captives were tapegagged.
"But lest you think we're complete scum, we'll still complete your ceremony on our terms. What was it in the vows? You, Vika? Do you agree to take him as your husband?" - Jacob asked mockingly, filming the proceedings with his phone camera.
"Mmmph!"
"We'll call it a yes. And you? What's your name again? Do you agree to take her as your wife?"
"Mmmmm?"
"Then excellent. I now pronounce you husband and wife! Now kiss!"
"Mmmffff?"
"Kiss, I said." - Jacob snapped, pointing a gun at the couple.
Realizing Jacob wouldn't back down, Victoria and Charles touched their gagged lips, which technically could be considered a kiss.
"Maybe this will become a new wedding tradition someday, who knows?" - Dana said tenderly.
"Well, consider the ceremony over - just one last detail. We really don't want you to run away - you could get hurt or get into trouble. So we'll tie you up tight. Better let the bride make the first move." - Jacob said, tossing a coil of rope at Victoria's feet.
"Mmmmm!"
"Come on, you get down on your knees." - Jacob said to Charles - "And you tie him up." - he turned to Victoria.
And again, the captives were forced to obey. Victoria was good at tying knots, but she deliberately didn't tighten the ropes too much, hoping that Charles would be able to break the bonds if they were left alone.
"Now it's the princess's turn, don't worry, I won't tie you up any tighter than necessary." - Jacob said, pulling out a new coil of rope - "Dana, check how they tied her lawful husband, I have my doubts about the security of those knots."
"Yeah, I don't mind" - Dana began checking - "Yeah, it's not tied very securely, you probably wouldn't pass the knot-tying test at summer camp, but don't worry, I'll correct your mistakes for you."
"You know, I'm not doing this just for revenge and ransom." - Jacob whispered in Victoria's ear as he tied her up - "Well, you don't need to know about that yet, don't worry about it, just relax and enjoy."
"I think that's all I have." - Dana said, lighting a cigarette.
"Yes, now we'll send word of the ransom, and it will be better for all of us if your relatives are generous and prompt enough. We apologize again for the inconvenience. Perhaps this isn't how you envisioned your wedding night. However, it's much more fun than a dreary engagement in an old church, isn't it?" - Jacob said.
"It'll be something to tell the kids, ha-ha," Dana laughed at her own joke.
"Yeah, and now, see you later, I hope you're not too upset with us." - Jacob said, closing the van doors.
"So what now? Those old geezers wanted us to keep their daughter safe. I think they won't be pleased." - Dana said.
"They were talking about beatings, not stripping or tying her up. Besides, they were willing to ruin their daughter's wedding to keep her from marrying that guy. By the way, I feel a little sorry for him. I don't know him - he doesn't look like a fighter, but Victoria still saw something in him. Maybe it's the money?" - Jacob replied.
"Or maybe she just likes weak men? The ones she can easily control? That's why she left you; - you're too coolfor her."
"I won't think about it. My mind is on the reward. We can take the money as agreed, or maybe we should pressure those rich assholes and ask for more - send them an 'engagement' video? Or maybe we should show some generosity and tell Victoria that her parents are responsible for everything?"
"You want to anger them? Sorry, but I wouldn't want to have to run around the world trying to get away from them."
"They'll go broke trying to track me... us. By the way, I think this dress would look good on you."
"Don't even think about it. Better yet, just cut it up and throw it in the trash!"
"Mmmmffff!"
"Mmmmm?"
Victoria tried to roll onto her side to reach the knots tying her lover with her paws, but to no avail. Even though Jacob had promised not to tie her too tightly, he hadn't kept that promise.
Charles wasn't faring any better – no matter how hard they tried, he couldn't break the rope. And he felt ashamed that he couldn't protect his bride... wife. He didn't know if the wedding ceremony could be considered complete, but he would have preferred it to be held in... a more peaceful setting.
However, despite all the hardships, there was something pleasant about being together even in difficult conditions and unpleasant circumstances, but they would still have preferred less rope and more clothes on their bodies.
-Three days until the wedding.
"Oh, I still can't believe our son is finally getting married, and just recently it seemed like I wouldn't live to see it!"
